Lanzhou is the capital city of Gansu Province and the central city in Northwest China. It is the headquarter of Lanzhou Railway Administration and Lanzhou military region which is one of the seven military regions of China.

Dong Fang Hong Square is located in the center of Lanzhou City and it is the living room of Lanzhou citizens. It was first renovated and formally named in 1968, and later renovated in 1981, 1993 and 1995. The new Dong Fang Hong Square has an total area of 92,172 square meters including lawn area of 36,000 square meters. The green rate has reached 40.31%.
