General Introduction of Dali

Dali, full name Bai nationality autonomous prefecture, is located in the central west part of Yunan Province in the binding site of Yu-Gui Plateau and Hengduan Mountains, high in the Northwest and low in the Southeast. There are many lake basins in Dali which covers an area of 71.49 square kilometers taking 6.6% of the whole prefecture. Among those basins, 18 covers an area over 1.5 square kilometers.

Located in the low-latitude plateau, Dali has a low latitude plateau monsoon climate with an annual average temperature of 12.2--18.9℃. The year highest temperature is 30.4℃ and the lowest -7.8℃. It has small annual temperature range and undistinctive four seasons. Obvious stereo-climate and more meteorological disasters are also characteristics of Dali.

Dali Ancient Town:
Dali Ancient Town, also called Violet Town, has a history of 1,200 years. It has a Square Shape, four door in different direction and three streams in the North and South. Five streets lies from South to North and eight streets lies from West to East. In 1982, Dali was listed in the first batch of national 24 historical and cultural relics.
