General Introduction of Weihai
Weihai is located in the east part of Shandong Peninsula, beside Huanghai in the south, north and east. It is a famous port and tourism city in China, one of the coastal opening cities and the first national health city. In 2009, Weihai was honored the National Forest City.
Weihai has the longest coastal lines in China, the easternmost point of coastline in China and world's first modular high-temperature reactor experiment nuclear power station. Weihai is the birthplace of modern Chinese navy, the biggest aquatic product city in China, the most suitable city for human living and the nearest city to Japan.
Located in the middle altitude, Weihai has a north temperate monsoonal continental climate with rich rainfall, wild weather and moderate temperature. The annual average temperature is 11.9¡æ.
Sitting near the mountain and by the sea, Weihai has rich tourism resources including the island coast, city garden, historical ruins, folk customs and etc. It is the good place for summer holidays. In 1998, Weihai was honored as China's excellent tourism city. In 2003, it was awarded the United Nations Habitat Award and it is considered as one of the most habitable cities.

Weihai International Sea Beach, together with Liugong Island and Chengshantou are called the three major scenic spots in Weihai. International Sea Beach is also one of the best bathing sea beaches. Weihai International Sea Beach is located in Weihai Torch Hi-tech Industrial development zone.It is a natural sea bathing beach with a beach area of 100,000 square meters. The beach recreational facilities like amusement park, water world including speed boat, cruise boat and motorboat are all available.

Weihai International Airport, also called Dashuipo International Airport, is located in Dashuibo Town Wendeng County, 30 km to the downtown. It was transferred from the air force airport into civilian airport in 1992 and formally opened in 1996. After the renovation in 2005, the using area of the terminal building is 16,000 square meters. It takes only 45 minutes from Weihai Airport to Seoul in South Korea, which is the most ideal China-Korea routes in China.
