Drive to the Forbidden City. The abode of 24 Ming and Qing dynasties
emperors of the celestial Empire, the forbidden city is a fittingly
awe-inspiring sight. Enclosed behind it¡¯s moat and 9.9 meters high wall
are 980 buildings, vast courtyards and long corridors that occupy a
total area of 720,000 square meters.
It¡¯s alleged that as many as 1,000,000 workers and 100,000 artisans
participated in the construction of Forbidden City, which began in 1406
and was completed in 1420 during the reign of Ming dynasty. After the
establishment of the Republic of China, the Forbidden city was opened
to the public, Hence its current Chinese name, gugong bowuyuan, meaning
¡°the palace Museum¡±.
Visited
the biggest imperial palace of the world- Forbidden City for 2 hours.
Walk along the axis of palace from south to north .
Then
driving 30 minutes to Temple of Heaven , Visit the Temple of Heaven
for 1 hour.
Drive
to Longfu restaurant to have Chinese lunch. (40 minutes)
After lunch, Drive to Summer Palace with 30 minutes, Visit the most beautiful imperial garden of China¡ª Summer Palace for 1hour 20minutes.
Transfer all travelers back to hotel before 6:00pm after the whole day tour.
During
the whole trip, Chinese tea house and Beijing Pearl shop will be arranged
